Willard Carroll smith || known by the name Will Smith was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on 25-09-1968. His mother Caroline was a board administrator in school and his father Willard Carrol Smith Sr. was a refrigeration engineer and the veteran in U.S Air Force. His parents were divorced in 2000. He has a younger sister and two twin brothers. Early, he was admitted to a high school name Overbrook for education. Smith got a scholarship from the University of Massachusetts Institute of Technology(MIT) but he decided not to join because he did not want to go to college even he passed high school with good grades. He wanted to start his rape career rather than continuing his education. In one interview he said:

“My mother had a friend in MIT who was an officer in MIT, they needed black kids at that time but I did not have the interest to take admission.”

Personal life:

In 1922, Smith married Sheree Zampino. His son named “Trey” was born on 11-11-1992. His son appeared with him in his song and two episodes of the Hollywood series. The couple divorced in 1995.

In 1997, he married an actress Jada Koren Pinkett. She played the role of his girlfriend in Bel-Air. They have two children named Camille Region Smith born in 1998 and Willow Camille Region Smith born in 2000. These two also worked with him in the industry. In 2018, he celebrates his 50 year birthday in Grand Canyon by jumping from a helicopter. Smith raised $200 million for charity Global citizen. 

The story behind Fresh Prince:

At the age of 12, he started rapping. His rhymes had some comedic shades that later becomes his sign. At the age of 16, in 1981, he met Jaffrey Allen Townes known by the name “DJ Jazzy Jeff” in a party organized in the town’s home which was near smith’s house. Townes missed his rapper but Smith filled that space. Through this, they felt amazingly strong chemistry with each other and after sometime Smith and “DJ Jazzy Jeff” released their first album in 1986 later they decided to add a third person to make a group. Within short time, they made Clarence Holmes their partner who was a beatboxer and their album was followed by album ROCK THE HOUSE. After this album, smith found popularity as “Fresh Prince”. He adopted this name from his school nickname.

The group Fresh Prince and DJ Jazzy Jeff got a Grammy reward for the best Rape performance in 1989 for the album “Parents Just Don’t understand”. In 1991, their album “Summertime” ranked four(4) in “Billboard Hot 100”. Their friendship got stronger day by day. They said in an interview; “they will never be apart”.

Smith’s Career:

In 1990, he began his career as an actor. He started acting in a season “Bel-Air” that run for six seasons from 1990-1996 on NBC. Smith also earned a name in acting career. 

After the successful series, the Smith moved to films and start working in blockbuster movies. He is the only one in the industry having 8 films that make $100 million in the domestic box office and 11 films internationally that gross over $150 million. He served as an actor in 1993 in the play John Guare’s which is “Six Degrees Of Separation”. In 1995, he done the comedy movie “Bad Boys”. In 1996, he done the year’s popular movie “Independence Day”. He broke the record of next year’s science fiction film “Comedy Men In Black”. In 1997, he recorded the album “Big Willie Style”. He also made a Grammy-winning song, the film appeared in 2002 and 12.

In 2002, he released his album “Born TO Reign” and in 2005 he recorded “Lost And Found” but his album was not successful like the previous albums. In 2007 his movie “I Am Legend” that released as the largest movie in the united state in December. People gave very positive reviews of the movie. In 2008 his movie “Hancock” was released worldwide and grossed $624,386,746. In 2011, he announced to record his album. In 2012 film“Man In Black 3” was appeared at the box office. In 2016, he performed in the movie with his son Jaden in the science fiction movie “After Earth”. In 2016, he played the character of Assassin Deadshot in the movie “Suicide Squade” and a character of the father in “Collateral Beauty”. He also started his work as a police officer in the Netflix series. In 2018, he hosted TV series about the earth. He sang the official song of FIIFA in Moscow with Nicky Jam and Kosovar at the closing. He performed with Bad Bunny a video song Esta Rico. In 2019, he worked in the comedian film “Aladdin”. He also played his role in 2019 in “Spies In Disguise”. Then he started “Bad Boys For Life” a second version of the 1995 film in 2020. He also acted in a movie with his wife

Religion:

Smith was born in a Baptist house and admitted to Roman Catholic school and church. In 2015 he said: 

 “He taught about faith by his grandmother ”. 

 He said that:

“She was my religious teacher. She was a personality I never met in my life. She was happy when she had time to go to heaven”. 

He said that he likes and has affection for Hindus and Astrology.

Donations:

Smith donated $1.3 million in 2007, $450,000 to Christian ministers $122,500to the Scientology organization, and the remaining to “Los Angeles Mosque”. Smith and his wife also have a private school in California. In 2010, he donates $1.2 million to the school. Smith donates $4600 to Barack Obama in 2008. In 2019 he and his wife hosted a ceremony in Oslo, Norway. In 2012 he announced to support same-sex marriage.

Smith’s ups and downs:

At a young age he got much success. In 1988-99 he had not paid his taxes. The Internal Revenue Services charged him a debt of $2.8 million tax. In this pressure, he signed with NBC to become “The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air”.
